Female basketball player, Imani Lubin, has been nominated to compete against high school basketball players in the United States to claim the title as a McDonald’s All-star American, which takes place in Atlanta, Georgia on Mar. 28.

Those who are nominated have to be selected in order to compete in the All-Star American game. Lubin was nominated for “her leadership, the decision she makes, and the average points she makes in a game,” her coach said.

“It was surreal to be nominated,” Lubin said, “as a kid, I always wanted to be an All-Star American…”

Many efforts were made in order to make her dream come true. Throughout the basketball season, Lubin helped to lead her team. She worked very hard in order to recover from her two knee surgeries in 2013 and 2017 of May.

“Normally it would take a year to recover from the surgeries, but it only took about 5 months,” Lubin said.
