Close Loss For Girls Basketball

Jones took a victory of 50-43 against the Oak Ridge girls basketball team this Friday.

However, the following night Oak Ridge defeated Seminole 61-50 at Spruce Creek and earlier in the week they defeated First Academy 58-53.

An Oak Ridge coach, Felih Paker, commented on how Jones played by saying, “They play very aggressive.”

Not many points were scored until the second quarter of the game. In the first quarter Jones scored a total of 7 points while Oak Ridge scored 11, but in the second quarter Jones fired back and got a 5 point lead of 24-19.

The most impressive feat by Jones in the second quarter was Emani bell # 10 scoring a total of 8 points that carried the team ahead.

]Williams said that she was significantly impressed by Jasmine Quartermine who scored 20 points during the game.

Amijah Grant also proved to be a key player by scoring 11 points and 15 rebound shots.
