Seniors paraded across campus in stylish togas and accessories Friday morning to celebrate a rite of passage during Spirit Week.

Only seniors participate in Toga Day. For other students, Friday was Spirit Day, and those students wore green-and-gold Oak Ridge T-shirts handed out earlier in the week.

After four years of wearing green and gold, seniors showed enthusiasm and pride in being able to finally show up in togas.

“I feel like a Greek goddess,” said Ashley Louis, who designed her own toga.

“Being able to finally represent my school makes me feel more like a senior because it distinguishes me from the lower classmen,” Louis said.

Some seniors did not dress up in togas.

“I did not feel the energy to participate in Spirit Week this year but I am looking forward to prom,” Archkania Pierre Jeune said.

Wearing a toga to school is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and many students took advantage of that by showing up in their best outfits. From Amazon shopping to bed sheets and gold glitter,  students added their own style.
