Oak Ridge students will experience a solar eclipse Monday. OCPS schools will be on a normal schedule but anyone who wishes to view the eclipse from home can be excused from school or picked up early with a note from a parent, according to the OCPS website. Sports and after school activities will be conducted inside for the day.

According to an article on the “Times” website, there are concerns about driving on Monday. During the last eclipse in 1918 diving was not as common and it was much less of a concern but with the now millions of drivers in North America, it is important that people take precautions such as wearing proper eyewear for this event or if you can’t avoid looking at the eclipse it is suggested not to driving.
