Oak Ridge faces a major hurdle Friday night against Dr. Phillips in a home district tournament finals contest after defeating Olympia 96-52 Wednesday night.

With the win, the Pioneers (21-4) go into Friday night’s game undefeated at home and will face a consistent Dr. Phillips team (18-8) that will play to earn a spot in a region game for the 11th consecutive season.

Six Pioneer players scored in double digits in the lopsided win, including C.J. Bent who led all scorers with 18 points comprised of 6 three-pointers. Niven Glover also pitched in with 14 points and a few entertaining alley-oop dunks.

Dr. Phillips defeated Cypress Creek 45-29 Wednesday night to also earn their playoff spot. Daniel Love led the team with 16 points.

Both teams will play for a regional playoff position and the district champion will have home court advantage against a runner-up from another district starting Thursday.
