Evans Shuts Down Pioneers

Staff Report

Evans soared to a 38-6 win against the visiting Pioneers Friday in a matchup of key rivals. The Eagles scored 38 unanswered points following a first-quarter Oak Ridge touchdown.

After scoring on a pass play, the Pioneer offense was stifled by Evans for the remainder of the game. The Eagles scored twice in the first quarter to take a 12-6 lead and added a score in the second quarter to lead 20-6 at the half.

Oak Ridge was unable to close the gap as Evans kept the Pioneers off the board for the remainder of the affair.

All of the Eagles’ touchdowns came on run plays.
